The graphical user interface is the gateway into the modelling environment.
It presents the user with a familiar Motif style look and feel, and guides

The models menu presents a list of available models.
Models have been grouped into 4 basic categories at present:
Climate, Vegetation, Soil, and Radiation. A choice of category reveals a menu of the actual models, such as the Zelig model of forest population dynamics. Selection of a specific model results in the ...

Aims
Human computer interaction (HCI) is a broad and eclectic field.
The unifying theme is a concern with the "user", as an individual
or as a member of a wider collectivity (the work-group, the
organization as a whole), in relation to the design of computer-based
artifacts. The main aim of this course is to introduce students
to the breadth and diversity of research in HCI. A range of key
research topics (e.g. user involvement, cognitive modelling, CSCW)
will be examined by critical reading of seminal research papers.
Research paradigms and epistemological issues will be important
concerns. The impact of the

Abstract
This paper describes a hypertext based system for teaching the C
programming language. The course is presented using the Mosaic
World Wide Web browser and differs from a conventional hypertext based
course in that the material is individualised for each user.
When a user first begins the course they follow a standard path and are
asked, using HTML-based forms, a series of questions about their
background and knowledge of programming. The answers to these q...

WHAT 'FOLDIT (LIGHT)' DOES?
'FoldIt (light)' is a molecular modelling program to visualize and
manipulate proteins. 'FoldIt (light)' is an interactive program with a user
friendly interface. The goal of this program was to build an integrated
environment in which statistical analysis as well 3D observations could be
realized on PDB files without having to transfer files or swap machines.

AIM - an Auditory Image Model of Peripheral Auditory Processing
AIM is a software package with a modular architecture, developed to
support perceptual modelling of the fine-grain spectro-temporal
information observed in the auditory nerve. The software contains both the
functional and physiological modules to simulate auditory spectral
analysis, neural encoding and temporal integration, including new
forms of periodicity-sensitive temporal integration that generate
stabilized auditory images. Combinations of the modules enable the
user to approximate a wide variety of existing, time-domain, auditory
models. Sequences of auditory images can be replayed to produce
