CogTool Lab Frank Ritter 5 mar 08 Purposes ======= To understand a piece of usability software enough to choose between it and others Examine a piece of software through use learn a bit about a TA tool Reflect upon the role of TA in the RD-ICM, and in HCI in general. Lab === 1. Download and read the CogTool materials. This time does not count towards the lab, but you are free to document the time. 2. Spend 4 hours (each) working with the tool. You can work together or serialise your work. Document how you use your time. 3. For your lab report, * Describe CogTool in your own words in 1-3 paragraphs * Describe what you did in 1-3 paragraphs so that I know how to replicate your work * Describe lessons for CogTool in 3-5 paragraphs * Describe lessons for your project in 1-3 paragraphs * Include references as appropriate (and some are appropriate) Overall, this might be about 4-8 pages. Over 10 and you are doing too much work.
