To fix the TSI to work with Herbal

3 November 2004

The Herbal system will generate Soar rules with ":" as part of the attribute name and with spaces embedded in values, e.g., |This is a comment.| this can lead to problems with the TSI (also known as the tsDebugger), which has problems with the spaces.

Mazin As-Sanie has provided a fix. Here are instructions on how to use this fix:

  1. Download this new copy of the tsiDebuggerWME.tcl file . Be careful not to add line breaks to it (e.g., don't open it up in Word and then save it).
  2. Move it into the tsi folder. On the Mac, this is <soar-distribution>/tsi-4.0.1/
  3. Restart Soar and the TSI

That should do it! If not, queries to me and/or Bill.

cheers,

Frank
